Size of bag gloves

I am in the process of purchasing gloves for my husband.... how should I choose a size for him? Any guidelines on sizing of gloves?
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Sarah. A if he is bigger, like near 6 foot, he'll definitely want large. If he's shorter it could vary. But a good idea is to get handwraps as well, just in case the glove is a bit too large you can occupy that extra space.

Personally I like the way Cleto Reyes are built and the general feel they have to them.

Hi Nicole. That sounds like a great idea for a gift. Here's what you want to do-

First, figure out how much experience your dad has with boxing and how big a fella he is. If he is 6' and has been boxing for years, you'll want to consider a 100lb heavy bag. If he is smaller and will only use the bag recreationally, you can go a bit lighter like 60-70 lbs.

This bag right here is a great option if your trying to be cost effective: bx-hv-380. The good thing about this and most other bags is that they come with the chains needed to hang it from a hook or hanger. If you'd like to spend a few more dollars, consider this impressive bag: bx-hv-368. It's very high quality leather, durable, and pleasant to work with.

One thing these bags and most other bags don't address is the actual hook used to hang the bag up with. For that you'll need something like this: bx-ac-36, or if you don't want to drill into your wooden beams, something like this: bx-hv-369.

As to the second part of your question, handwraps and bag gloves are notably different. Handwraps are a long cloth chord that you use on your hands directly to protect the knuckles and secure the wrist. Generally handwraps are used alone for speed bag training, but with heavy bags it is recommended that you get real bag gloves in addition. The gloves provide the foam or gel protection needed to keep training over long periods of time safely. Here is an example of handwraps: bx-ac-312, and here are some nice bag gloves: bx-gl-11.

Women Bag Gloves

What women's heavy bag glove you sell and can recommend? It's for a woman that is small-medium frame, approx. 130lbs 5'4". The heavy bag will just be part of an overall cardio-fitness program. Would Ringside's super bag or gel super bag gloves be appropriate? If yes, what size?

Hey Joe. Super bag gloves would be a fine choice. I would recommend going with the medium size as junior might be too small. Also with medium there is a good chance she will be able to use handwraps to further protect her hands.
