Hi Sarah. A if he is bigger, like near 6 foot, he'll definitely want large. If he's shorter it could vary. But a good idea is to get handwraps as well, just in case the glove is a bit too large you can occupy that extra space.

First, figure out how much experience your dad has with boxing and how big a fella he is. If he is 6' and has been boxing for years, you'll want to consider a 100lb heavy bag. If he is smaller and will only use the bag recreationally, you can go a bit lighter like 60-70 lbs.

Handwraps are a long cloth chord that you use on your hands directly to protect the knuckles and secure the wrist. Generally handwraps are used alone for speed bag training, but with heavy bags it is recommended that you get real bag gloves in addition. The gloves provide the foam or gel protection needed to keep training over long periods of time safely. Here is an example of handwraps: bx-ac-312, and here are some nice bag gloves: bx-gl-11.

Hey Joe. Super bag gloves would be a fine choice. I would recommend going with the medium size as junior might be too small. Also with medium there is a good chance she will be able to use handwraps to further protect her hands.
