    Bad wraps

The wraps are way too small to begin with plus the fabric weave has a habit of lessening up really quickly. Just not too durable

    Greatness is Without

First impressions, I didn't know what to expect. I wrap my hands and they feel super tight around my knuckles, sides of my hands, and base of my fingers on the upper palms of my hands. When i clench a fist I feel circulation being cut off. I've put on gloves with these and my hand feels really uncomfortable at this point. These are also 100% cotton, there is no stretchiness to them. So after a few minutes of training they will unravel on you. Don't think about trying to put tape over them either, it won't help. In one of my sessions, after 15 minutes of just shadowboxing I decided to take them off. After I did it felt like my hand had been mummified for a decade and could finally breath. All in all I have wrapped them three different ways and have used them half a dozen times before I threw them away. I've used two other brands of wraps besides these (not going to name the brands) and these score the lowest out of all.

It doesn't matter if you are a serious gym rat or a weekend warrior, if you want quality wraps, I highly recommend you do not purchase these. Keep searching for reviews online/at gyms before you make your final purchase.

    Everlast vs. Medicinal vantages

I have bought and tried several of these wraps, they wok pretty good, but I have always had problems wrapping them. They're tight but when my workout is over they are all loose.

They don't feel as comfortable as those medicinal wraps and I think the second ones give more cushion.

    Nice wraps but...

These are really nice wraps. My only complaint is that they really smell. I washed them once before using and during the first workout they really smelled bad. My hope is that they don't continue smelling after the second wash!

Is this a joke? That's your fault. Your hands probably have a lot of oil on them. Try washing your hands, let alone showering before workout sessions. If your wraps smell of more than just sweat, I'm sure your gym will greatly appreciate you showering before you arrive.

    Handwraps Expert FAQs

    1. Why do I need handwraps?

Handwraps are an essential piece of protective equipment for boxers. During training, fighters sustain a large amount of impact on their hands and wrists. For the hands, this can often result in scraps, bruises, or cuts to the skin. The wrist can also get bent or sprained should a punch land awkwardly. Handwraps (when used correctly) are designed to reduce the friction of contact on the hand, both on the punching knuckles and on the skin from wearing gloves. A good wrap can also secure the wrist and prevent excessive torque. In addition, wraps can help protect against 'boxer's break', which is a fracturing of the bones in the palm of the hand.

    3. What are gel glove wraps?

In the last few years gel gloves wraps have become very popular. Instead of wrapping your hands in the traditional way, you can slip on a pair of glove wraps. Glove wraps save a lot of time and are great for beginners that are not confident in applying handwraps. The downsides to using glove wraps is the price, that they need to be replaced fairly frequently, and the wrist protection is lacking (which is important when striking a heavy bag hard).
Do not use gel wraps alone when striking a bag. They will wear out very quickly that way. Invest in a pair of bag gloves to wear over them, it will save you money in the long term.

    4.
    5. What length handwrap is right for me?

If you are an adult male, you will probably want a wrap that is 170" or 180" in length. Some MMA practitioners prefer a shorter 120" wrap, but most boxers prefer the longer. For women, teens, and other individuals with small hands, 120" wraps will fit you better.

    6.
    7. Traditional wraps vs glove-style wraps

A recent development in handwrap technology is a slip on style glove that simulates the effects of a full handwrap. The benefit of these glove wraps is the speed at which you can wear them. You can slip them on and be training in a few seconds.
Traditional handwraps, on the other hand, still offer unparalleled security and protection when applied properly. They can be wrapped tightly and to your specific hand dimensions. The wrap supports the wrist and has been proven to reduce the chance of sprain.
