I am looking for the best beam mount to hold a 100lb bag from my wooden beams in my UNfinished basement. Which one would be the best choice?

Hey KLN. The attachment on this page would work well, as would this one: bx-ac-36.

Wall Mounts & Hangers Expert FAQs
    1. What kind of mount or hanger should I use?

The kind of wall mount or ceiling hanger that is right for you will greatly depend on the location and structure you wish to hang it up on. Many homes are constructed with wooden beams that are covered by drywall. If you have one of these typical homes then you will need a wooden beam ceiling hanger.
However, you may want to hang the bag up in your basement, garage, or at a gym. In those circumstances you may find metal beams instead of wood. Naturally these are not as easy to drill in to, so you may want to use an I-beam hanger instead. These will fasten around the metal as opposed to wood beam hangers that drill right into the material.
Should you deem your ceiling unfit or inconvenient for hanging, you have the option of buying a wall mount which screws into the wood studs in your wall.

    3. How can I avoid rattling my house when using hangers?

When you use hangers or mounts in your home, they have a tendency to rattle nearby rooms. To avoid that, pay attention to the kind of beam you are attaching the bag to. If you use a wooden beam that is a connected part of the house's frame, the energy from your strikes will transfer up the bag, into the post, and through the conjoined posts. To minimize this effect, utilize a beam that is either unconnected to the rest of the house (like in a garage), or something that will transfer less vibration (like a metal post with rubber padding around the contact point).

    5. Can my walls and ceiling handle a heavy bag?

You may be wondering if your home or garage is durable enough to withstand heavy bag training. After all, there is a lot of jostling and swinging going on. The most important thing to remember is that hangers and wall mounts were not intended to be used with weak materiaround the contact point).

    7. How to attach a wall hanger

The most important thing when attaching a wall hanger is locating an appropriate stud. Be sure not to rely on dry wall or other less stable material. Once located, use a level to trace a horizontal line where you will be screwing in your first two holes. This line will help make sure you don't screw in the mount unevenly. After you secure the main base, secure any support posts that your mount comes with.
