Generally, I think Everlast products are ok, but in most cases you pay for the name. The stuff in stores is generally not good quality, and the good stuff costs way too much.

    Then I found these.

The Protex2 is probably the best "cheap" glove I have ever used. They feel good on your hands, have a broken-in feel right out of the package, and...if you need it...they just look cool.

this would be the one I would recommend. Everlast overcharges for their products, but they found a great balance with this glove. Just enough good features, and a heck of a good price

Yes, in my opinion they offer good support. The velcro wrist straps do a decent job of keeping your wrist straignt and adding support.

With all gloves you should use handwraps... But this gloves are very good protecting your wrist with the protex tech... I have to say i've never used a boxing glove with such good wrist support. You can even adjust it if you have wide or thin wrists.

    Great Gloves

I think it's impossible to find better gloves for this price.
I ordered the gloves and got them a month ago (I live in Colombia), used them about 3 times a week and they still look like new.

They feel great, protect your hands perfectly and let's face it, there aren't many gloves better looking than these.

    longevity

I find the longevity with my gloves is lessened by the smell and ability of the glove to dry inside. I've always gone with leather because I feel that they breathe better than vinyl and last longer without smelling inside. I haven't tried this new anti-microbial lining yet. Is this better than just getting leather gloves to avoid this problem? Are these gloves vinyl/synthetic leather?

These are vinyl aka synthetic leather. There is a leather version, it's SKU bx-gl-160
Smell comes from bacteria buildup. How effective is the anti-microbial lining? Everlast says it's effective. Can anyone who has used these for a long period of time share their thoughts regarding the smell?

I'd like to recommend a product called glove dogs - http://www.karatedepot.com/bx-gl-99.html . These are inserted into your gloves and help absorb smell and moisture. A great way to prevent the kind of wear and tear you are experiencing!

I used the protex2 gloves for a 4 month period. In this time i put easily 20 hrs of work into them a week including bag and sparring work. The lining remained in good condition until about half way through the third month it, like many gloves, began to stink and had a seemingly permanent wet spot in the very top part of the glove liner. Also the vinyl began to wear through around the palm, I assume that this was perhaps the by-product of perhaps the sweat beginning to absorb through the liner. These are recommended if you want a comfortable glove that has a short lived longetivity but still perform very well.

Haven't used them for too long but I can tell you your hands do get sweety. But my gloves don't smell bad at all... I use foot powder on my hands before using them. It helps to keep your hands a little bit dryer and kills germs that generate the bad smell... Maybe you could give it a try.

How long they will last really depends on how much you use them and what you use them for. for instance, one or two times a week in light sparring these gloves will last forever, but if you go everyday and pound the canvas bag, then the life of the gloves will be significantly lessened. It;s really hard to put a timeframe on something like that. I can say though, that these are pretty tough gloves and we do not have many issues with them wearing out in a month or two. If you buy them and feel like they broke too easily or wore too quickly you can give us a call and we'll see if we can work something out.
