As of right now we decided to continue to stock the Rival model - bx-sh-2006. We felt it was of very high quality, breathable and flexible.

For the price it's a good way to go.

9 1/2 shoe size and wrestling

All the shoes I've have i get 9 1/2 us shoe size, do you guys think i should get a 9 or a 10? By the way i normally wear width-er shoes and i know i can just return them if they don't fit but i would prefer not to will to deal with that haha. Also can i use these shoes in wrestling?

Since you generally need a little extra width, I would go with the 10. These shoes run tight to the foot so a 9 might prove too snug.

Hey Tommy. That depends on the amount of ankle support you like. The low top might feel a bit more like regular shoes, and therefore might make for an easier transition.

Buying shoes, especially boxing shoes, over the internet makes me physically sick. Adidas boxing shoes size 11 fit me perfectly, I would like to order these, will a size 11 fit me? Does anyone in Boxing Depot land wear a size 11 adidas, and if so, what size would they wear in these?

Hey Jimmie. I know the sensation you are feeling. Being able to walk a few steps in shoes before actually buying them is something noticeably missing from online shoe shopping.

I'd like to say a size 11 would fit you as perfectly as adidas, but I don't think it will. Adidas tends to run a half size larger than most other brands, so these would probably be a bit more snug than your regular adidas.

The good news is, we accept returns and exchanges no problem if the size doesn't work out. The only thing you would need to pay is the buck or two shipping to send them back to us.

Since adidas is your goto brand, I'd like to recommend you browse our adidas boxing shoes: I think you could buy with more confidence that way!

Since these don't run in half sizes you might want to go for the 11.

Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of wide or half sizes. You may just have to go a half size up.

Boxing Shoes Expert FAQs
  1. How are boxing shoes different than regular shoes?

On the surface boxing shoes might appear like normal running shoes, but they are actually quite different. The goal of a boxing shoe is to hug your foot snugly while still allowing air to flow through. Boxing shoes need to provide you with excellent traction but also be very light to maximize your mobility. This lightness is provided by a sole that is thinner than normal shoes and airy yet supportive. Shoe fabric is often constructed out of soft leather or suede, and feature either rubber or other non-slip type soles.
Boxing shoes provide a fine balance of characteristics that offer protection, comfort, and durability.

  3. What kind of shoe is right for me?

There are three main things to consider when shopping for shoes. First is comfort. When looking into different brands, pay attention to how much effort they have put into making the shoes breathable and light. You never want to feel burdened or distracted. Second is usability. You'll have to choose how much grip you think you will need (do you make lots of weight shifts and quick cuts? Do you slip often in the ring?), and also how much ankle support you'll want. Finally, you'll need to decide what kind of visual style you'd like. Depending on what kind of image you wish to present to spectators, you'll have to choose between flashy and subdued styles.

  5. Are boxing shoes required to compete in matches?

Amateur and professional boxers are not required to have boxing-specific shoes on, but in general it is recommended that you wear something safe and appropriate. Some fighters choose to use low coverage, wrestling style boots that are very minimalistic. Other boxers prefer higher topped boots that provide added support.

  7. What size should I get?

Most boxing shoes run in the same sizes as normal shoes. If you are a size 11 in running shoes, it is likely you are a size 11 in boxing shoes as well. Some fighters like to get a half size lower so the shoes are very snug and resistant to sliding around.
