A new and improved version of Ring to Cage's already successful Deluxe mitts. While still made of genuine leather where it counts, a mesh material now covers the fingers so that the hand compartment is ventilated and more comfortable. The leather is well put together and features double stitching on the back.

The slight curve fits the natural contour of the hand, and an innovative padded incline beneath the palm keeps these mitts nice and snug without the need for looping straps. The padding is dense for maximum absorption and protection... All resulting in an excellent balance of durability for the striker, comfort for the pad holder, and ease of use for everyone.

What kind of punching mitt is right for my routine?

Different mitts will help you develop different aspects of your training. First you have to decide what it is you'd like to focus on. Do you want more punching power? If so you'll want to purchase mitts with a larger surface area and increased padding so as to protect both your hands and your partner. When throwing punches at full power all the time, prolonged safety of your joints is paramount.
Do you want increased accuracy? Then your best bet might be a pair of micro mitts which provide a smaller striking surface and in turn force you to increase the precision of your striking.
Perhaps you'd like to work on speedy combinations? In that case you'll want a very balanced and light weight pair so that your trainer can move from one position to the next without getting tired or bogged down.

How can punching mitts improve my training?

One of the most dynamic and effective ways to improve striking ability is through the use of punching mitts. Punching mitts are handheld, mobile pads that a trainer can wear ges when it comes to enhancing your training.
Curved mitts are excellent for guiding punches into the sweet spot of the mitt. Foam padding vs gel padding

Foam padding is the standard in most mitts and has been proven effective over many years of use. Foam is either tightly molded inside the mitt or designed to contain impact absorbing air pockets. The benefits of foam are the lowered cost of construction and the variability of thickness. Whether you are looking for very thick mitts or small and light, you can find them in foam.
Gel is a newer technology but is becoming very popular. Gel has an excellent ability to absorb and disperse impact, and can be made thinner than a lot of foam pads. The only downside is gel's tendency to breakdown after extensive use, so for general gym purposes (meaning tons of pounding) it can be better to go with foam.
